On Monday night, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock led a masterful late-game touchdown drive that ultimately gave his team the win. And it’s safe to say his head coach was impressed by his play.
Filling in for injured starter Geno Smith, Drew Lock led a 10-play, 92-yard drive with just 1:10 on the clock to score what turned out to be a game-winning touchdown drive in the 20-17 victory. And after the game, Pete Carroll had one word to describe the final drive and the play from his quarterback: “Beautiful.”
“Beautiful football. Just beautiful football,” Carroll said according to the Seattle Seahawks team website. “The poise we talked to you about last week. That’s where he’s been. He’s been on it. He’s been in command. There’s a couple incompletes in that drive, came right back and hit it, converted and made the first downs and all to throw the football to win the game. Amazing stuff. He would be the first to tell you about the guys around him. The offensive line did a great job tonight running the football, pass pro, did a great job against these guys, gave us a chance. I mean, we couldn’t ask more from him in that game tonight.”
It was a wonderful moment for both Lock and the Seahawks as it snapped a four-game losing streak for the team and gave Lock perhaps the best moment of his NFL career.
