Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has been with the team for 14 seasons and is currently 72 years old, which is at or past what many coaches consider retirement age. But it doesn’t sound like Carroll is planning to walk away from the team anytime soon.
During a recent appearance on Seattle Sports Monday, Pete Carroll made it clear that he does not plan on retiring from his role with the Seahawks before next season, saying that he is “not worn out.”
“I plan to be coaching this team,” Carroll said according to Pro Football Talk. “And I told you, I love these guys. And that’s what I would like to be doing and see how far you can go. . . . I’m not worn out. I’m not tired. I’m not any of that stuff. I need to do a better job and I need to help my coaches more and we need to do a better job of coaching. There’s a lot of area for improvement.”
The Seahawks missed the playoffs this year, so Carroll will be spending the offseason to make corrections over the offseason in an attempt to get the team back to the postseason next year.
