As the Minnesota Vikings have experienced minimal success over recent seasons’ Percy Harvin is a player that the city can be proud of . During his tenure, Harvin has been individually outstanding and fun to watch. When his head is straight and not being bombarded by migraine head aches Harvin is a home run threat from virtually any point on the field. He can run, he can catch, hell he can even take handoffs. At 5’11 184 lbs Harvin is a rare blend of size, agility and blazing speed. Last season he posted great stats. Receiving: 87 catches, 967 yards, and 6 TDs. Rushing: 52 carries, 345 yards and 2 TDs. Returning: 16 returns , 52o yards and 1 TD Next season, Harvin must continue to play at a high level in order to help young QB Christian Ponder. If the Vikings plan on going anywhere fast keeping the highly prized game breaker must remain a top priority moving forward.

Gerhart is arguably the most acclaimed high school football player to ever come out of California, setting the career rushing record bench mark of 9,662 yards. At Stanford, Gerhart continued his golden boy image playing baseball, football and maintaining scholar type grades. During the 2009 season, Gerhart ran for 1,871 yards and 28 TD’s leading the Cardinal to an 8-5 record and a bowl berth for the first time in 8 seasons. Last season he was a formidable back up. Rushing: 81 carries, 322 yards and 1 score. Receiving: 21 catches for 167 yards. The Vikings definitely need to keep Gerhart as Peterson has begun to show signs of tread on the tires. At 230 lbs if the Vikings line can move bodies, Toby should be able to put the hurt on smaller defensive players once he breaks into the secondary. In my opinion Gerhart should have a long career in the NFL despite being average up until this point.
