Down 2-7 (yes, it’s that type of game), Geno Smith showed little hesitation throwing deep against a Minnesota defense which had already scored on a pick six on the opening play of the game.
Miraculously, Smith was able to hit Percy Harvin on a sweet 35 yard score midway through the first quarter.
It’s hard to say what’s more improbable; the fact that Geno Smith was able to accurately toss a ball more than ten yards or the fact that a team actually had Percy Harvin run a route longer than ten yards. Hopefully, Harvin is utilized like this more in the future.
