The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to make history on Sunday. If Kansas City manages to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, it’ll become the first franchise to ever win three consecutive Super Bowls in NFL history.

The game also has massive personal ramifications for the career of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his legacy as he tries to chase down Tom Brady for the title of best quarterback of all time.

Ironically, Brady will be calling Sunday’s Super Bowl, and Mahomes did not hold back on the situation and dynamic between the two in a media session leading up to the Super Bowl.

“I have so much respect for Tom, and he’s been someone that’s given me so much advice in my career,” Mahomes said, according to Fox News. “So, it’ll be really cool, and I’m sure he’ll break it down, and it’ll be a great game, and I’m excited for the fans to see it.”

The words of support are sure to mean a lot to Brady, who has had his fair share of critics this season for his performance in the broadcast booth.

Still, in light of the criticisms and even his new role as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders’ ownership group, Brady seems set to continue his work in the booth, meaning this is unlikely to be his last Super Bowl.

If he has the support of the best player in the game today it should go a long way to helping Brady establish more credibility in his new role.

It’ll be interesting to see how he does on Sunday.
