The Green Bay Packers season was a bit of a mixed bag in 2024. The Packers managed to make the playoff field this year despite being in the NFC North, which was widely regarded as the best division in the NFL this season.
Unfortunately, quarterback Jordan Love struggled to avoid interceptions throughout the campaign, and the defense’s pass rush was unable to get consistent pressure on the defense.
This all culminated with an early playoff exit following a Wild Card round loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, Green Bay is looking to rectify things, and head coach Matt Lafleur is looking at outside help to bring new life and fresh ideas to his staff.
“Bucs DL coach and run game coordinator Kacy Rodgers is interviewing today with (Packers) coach Matt LaFleur for their open D-line position, sources say. Rodgers’ contract in Tampa is up and he’s viewed as a top free agent assistant who will have a robust market,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Better not go cheap on these coaches. Need difference makers,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Kacy Rodgers could be a valuable addition to the Packers staff with his strong reputation in coaching the D line!!!” someone else added.
“The theme this offseason appears to be defense,” added one Packers fan.
It’ll be interesting to see what other ideas LaFleur has to fix the glaring issues on the defensive side of the ball.
