San Francisco 49ers star edge rusher Nick Bosa is one of the top pass rushers in the entire league. And as he prepares to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, he had quite a blunt assessment of what he sees from their two defensive tackles during games.
This week, Nick Bosa was asked for his assessment of Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackles Donovan Smith and Jawaan Taylor. And Bosa certainly did not hold back in calling out the two offensive tackles for the problems they’ve had with holding penalties throughout the 2023 season.
“They hold a lot,” Bosa said bluntly in response to the question, according to Pro Football Talk.
It was quite a callout from Bosa, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
"Nick Bosa was held" is going to be tweeted 500,000 times by 49ers on Twitter next Sunday.
And it will be true https://t.co/1uQIqufJMm

He’s not wrong . Jawaan Taylor leads the league in penalties . Can’t figure out why he still starts for KC . He’s all they’ve got at that position?

Honesty. KC holds way too much and get away with it because the league has to put them in the SB. KC was lucky to be a playoff team without the officials they are watching. Mahomes is way overrated a long with Allen and Lamar

Between Bosa and Jed York, it looks like the 9ers are either getting excuses for a loss ready or just blatantly lobbying the officials to their side. Either way, it's a weak look.

I agree! I seen so many holds against the Ravens game but no calls. Good luck trying to beat the Chiefs when u also gotta play against the refs

It’s certainly bold of Bosa to call out the Chiefs like this, but he isn’t necessarily wrong. Taylor actually led the entire NFL with 20 penalties during the 2023 season, which included eight flags for holding penalties. Smith, meanwhile, was only called for five penalties, but four of those five penalties were for holding.
We’ll have to see how many times the Chiefs are called for holding during this week’s showdown with Bosa and the Niners.
