The last time the San Francisco 49ers made it to the Super Bowl following the 2019 season, they lost in heartbreaking fashion as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs used a second-half comeback to win Super Bowl LIV. And now, the Niners will have a chance to get their revenge in Super Bowl LVIII.
During his postgame interview session this week, San Francisco 49ers star pass rusher Nick Bosa made it clear that he could not think of a more perfect Super Bowl matchup, given the previous showdown a few years ago as well as the way this current season has played out for both teams.
“It’s perfect,” Bosa said of the upcoming matchup with the Chiefs, according to 49ers Webzone. “And they’re as great as an organization, coach, quarterback as there is. And they were down, not looking great this year either, and they’re playing their best ball now, so it’s going to be a big challenge.”
Of course, for things to truly turn out perfectly for Bosa and the Niners, they would have to beat the Chiefs and avenge the previous Super Bowl loss. We’ll have to see whether or not they can do that in a couple of weeks.
