So close. The NFL was literally hours away from recording their first arrest-free month in six years but Titans receiver Dorial Green-Beckham blew it.
The rookie, one with numerous legal issues from his college days, was pulled over and arrested just hours before the calendar turned to October last Wednesday.
The Tennessean reported the arrest:
Green-Beckham was pulled over Wednesday night on Highway 60 in Missouri for driving 65 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to the report. The officer ran the receiver’s license and discovered an outstanding warrant for speeding in Osage Beach, Mo.
The 22-year-old was released after paying $92.48 to settle the ticket. He received a written warning for speeding Wednesday.
Although it’s technically an arrest, it’s also a very weak arrest for failure to pay a measly speeding ticket. It’s still amusing to think of Green-Beckham’s reaction when he heard about the no-arrest September when he knew damn well that it wasn’t accurate.
