The 2024 season was a disappointing one for the Las Vegas Raiders. Antonio Pierce entered the season as a first-year head coach after impressing ownership in the interim role last season.
Unfortunately, Pierce led the team to a 4-13 finish on the season, resulting in him losing his job, as well as general manager Tom Telesco. Now, Las Vegas has shifted its focus to finding the next head coach to lead the team and hopefully establish a lasting culture in Las Vegas.
According to one prominent NFL insider, one name is emerging as a candidate.
“Former (Jets) coach Robert Saleh will interview on Thursday for the vacant (Raiders) head coaching job, source said,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“As a Raiders fan I’ll pass on him being the HC. Especially with him coming off that horrible tenure as the Jets HC. Wouldn’t mind him being the D Coordinator though,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Your friendly reminder that Woody Johnson has ZERO idea what he is doing as an owner,” one fan added.
“That would be a great spot for him. Love that guy,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Saleh gets another head coaching opportunity so soon after being fired by the New York Jets.
