The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to win their third consecutive Super Bowl. In order to get to New Orleans, where the Super Bowl is being held this year, the Chiefs will have to defeat the Buffalo Bills, the only team that was able to beat Kansas City’s starters this season.

To make things even tougher for the Chiefs, the Bills have shown a willingness to break the rules, and the league offices have decided that they will not be holding Buffalo to account or enforcing the rule in question for the remainder of the playoffs.

In their divisional round victory over the Baltimore Ravens, Bills running back James Cook’s body was pulled into the endzone by one of his linemen to score a touchdown. This is a blatant violation of the NFL rulebook, but the league has no intention of throwing flags for it in Sunday’s showdown.

“instructing them to call it now would represent too much of a change from the enforcement of the rules to date in the 2024 season,” explained a Pro Football Talk source.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Where on Fan Duel can I place a bet that the refs will call it against Buffalo this weekend in KC?” one fan asked on Twitter.

“(Pro Football Talk) doing the NFL’s work here to get this called on Sunday when every team has been doing it. Chiefs are going to get this called against the Bills this week, just watch,” one fan added.

“You probably already know this, but they play the Chiefs this week so I’m pretty sure that penalty will start getting called,” another fan added.

“It’s not like officials apply the rulebook against the Chiefs, but you aren’t calling that out,” added someone else.

If the Chiefs want a fair playing field, they may have to take a page out of Buffalo’s book and follow suit.
