Star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins spent the most dominant years of his NFL career with the Houston Texas after the team drafted him in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and now it looks like there’s a chance he could be returning to the team.

The Arizona Cardinals released DeAndre Hopkins last week after presumably failing to find a trade partner so far this offseason. As a result, Hopkins is now a free agent capable of signing anywhere in the league. And according to Houston Texas reporter John Crumpler of USA Today, Hopkins visited the Texans this week.

“Multiple sources have confirmed to me that free agent wide receiver and former franchise star DeAndre Hopkins visited with the Houston Texans while in Houston this past week #WeAreTexans,” Crumpler said in a tweet on Thursday.

It’s a pretty big update on Hopkins as he continues to navigate his sudden free agency late in the offseason, and the NFL world had plenty to say about his potential return to the Houston Texans on social media.

It will certainly be interesting to see if the team chooses to bring him in to add a new receiver for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud as he begins his NFL career.
