It’s safe to say that things did not necessarily go as planned for the New York Jets as future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during his first drive with the team sending the Jets into a tailspin the remainder of the year. But it’s quite clear that team owner Woody Johnson has high expectations for next season.
During a recent interview with the New York Post, Woody Johnson called out the team a little bit, making it clear that the team has to do “a lot better” than the seven games they won last year.
“The discussions we’ve had the last couple of months, they’ve seen me about as mad as I can be,” Johnson said according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. “This is it. We have to produce this year … I’m not a playoff mandate [guy] but we have to do a lot better than seven games.”
Of course, the Jets are planning to have Rodgers back next season, which could certainly help, but it’s clear that Johnson was not happy with the way the team performed last year and he clearly wants a decisive improvement next season.
