The Minnesota Vikings are in need of a new quarterback both for the immediate and long-term future after the departure of veteran starter Kirk Cousins, who served as the team’s starting quarterback for the past six years. The team did sign veteran former first-round pick Sam Darnold, but that does not seem to be stopping them from expressing interest in possibly trading up to draft a top rookie quarterback.
According to a report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings are visiting with Jayden Daniels as they consider their options in the upcoming NFL Draft.
“Former LSU QB Jayden Daniels is scheduled to have dinner tonight with #Vikings brass in Baton Rouge, per @Agentbutler1. Minnesota owns the No. 11 and 23 picks and has been gathering all the info in case there’s an opportunity to move up for one of the top QBs,” Pelissero said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

The Vikings currently hold the 11th and 23rd picks in the first round. While both of these picks are obviously too late to reasonably expect the team to be able to select a quarterback like Daniels, it’s possible that they could use both picks to help them move up into the draft into a position where they could select Daniels.
We’ll have to see what happens.
