Michael Penix Jr. had a prolific college career beginning with the Indiana Hoosiers and ending with the Washington Huskies, but he also dealt with injuries throughout his time in college that might give NFL teams pause about selecting him in the NFL Draft. As he goes through the pre-draft process, however, he knows he can’t control that.
During his press conference at the NFL Combine this week, Michael Penix Jr. was asked if there are still questions about his injury history heading into the NFL Draft.
“If they are, I can’t control it at this point,’’ Penix said according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com. “That was another reason I came back for the 2023 season, was to have another fully healthy season, just show I’m ready to compete and ready to do it at the next level. At this point I can’t control the questions about the injuries.”
Penix suffered two torn ACLs and two shoulder injuries during his college career. However, it’s worth noting that all of those injuries occurred during his time at Indiana and he never missed a game during his past two seasons with the Washington Huskies.
We’ll have to see where Penix is ultimately selected in the draft.
