During Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game with yet another major head injury after already suffering several concussions up to this point. With no clear timeline for Tagovailoa’s return, it sounds like the team is making a pretty significant move to bolster their quarterback position.
According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Maimi Dolphins have decided to sign veteran quarterback Tyler Huntley off the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad to help bolster their quarterback position.
“The #Dolphins are signing former Pro Bowl QB Snoop Huntley off the #Ravens practice squad, per sources. With Tua Tagovailoa in concussion protocol, Skylar Thompson is in line to start Sunday at Seattle, and now Huntley could be a factor in coming weeks as well,” Pelissero said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
The #Dolphins now have two healthy QBs on the 53-man roster: Skylar Thompson and Snoop Huntley, who earned a Pro Bowl nod in relief of injured Lamar Jackson in 2022 and most recently was in camp with Cleveland. Tim Boyle is on Miami's practice squad. https://t.co/mGCRgDBKJx

Huntley may have been on the Ravens’ practice squad, but he has plenty of experience.
Throughout his four seasons in the NFL, Huntley has nine starts and even earned Pro Bowl honors when he took over for Lamar Jackson during the 2022 season.
The Dolphins seem set to move forward with Skylar Thompson as their starting quarterback with Tagovailoa out, but Huntley will be there to provide support.
We’ll have to see how the Dolphins perform with Tagovailoa out.
