Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert is 31 years old and in his ninth season in the NFL. He’s been playing a long time in comparison to other NFL running backs, but it doesn’t sound like he’s ready to call it a career anytime soon.
During a recent interview with Fox News, Raheem Mostert made it clear that he isn’t even considering retirement with how well he’s been playing the past few years.
“Truthfully, it’s kind of hard to have that conversation when I’m performing as well as I am. But, I always tell people when they come in to ask me like, ‘hey, are you going to retire within the next couple of years?’ And I’m like, I’ll retire when my legs can’t go anymore,” Mostert told Fox News.
“Right now, the wheels are great. I gotta keep rolling and I got to keep doing what I got to do in order to help my family. That’s the biggest thing for me is to be able to provide for my family and create opportunities not only for myself but for them as well.”
Last season, Mostert finished the year with 891 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and he’s on pace to exceed those numbers this season. So it’s reasonable that he hasn’t began pondering retirement, even though he’s the third-oldest player on the Dolphins roster at a very physical position.
