Breathe, Seattle. Because Marshawn Lynch was just cleared of any wrongdoing by the Bellevue Police Department.
On Monday, it was reported that Lynch was being investigated by police for an assault and property damage accusation. After the investigation was announced, the Seahawks put out a statement that claimed the accusations against Lynch were “bogus.” And, today, police determined that Lynch played no role in the incident.
Here is the police’s statement on the matter:
The Bellevue Police Department has determined that Marshawn Lynch was not involved in this incident in any way. The case remains an open and active investigation. We appreciate the cooperation we have received from Mr. Lynch and the Seahawks organization during this investigation.”
These bogus accusations serve as another reminder that football season can’t start soon enough. Three weeks from today, Lynch will be suiting up to face the Green Bay Packers in the season opener.
