The Detroit Lions took a chance on Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold with the No. 24 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. And he appears dead set on proving to the Lions that they made the right decision. Even if it meant he has to take out his mom in the process…
Arnold, who is set to wear the jersey number zero because he said that there “ain’t anybody like” him, recently spoke with ESPN’s Eric Woodyard, discussing the competitive nature that has been with him since a very young age.
In this conversation, he even revealed that he would “jam his mom in the dirt” if she happened to be lined up on the opposite side from him on the football field.
“I’ll never forget one time my mom kicked my tooth out because we was just going at it so hard,” Arnold told Woodyard. “So if my mom was out here right now and she lined up across me as a receiver, I would jam her into the dirt. That’s my mindset, and my mom knows that right now. I just mean it in the simple aspect of like football-wise, that’s just the way that I think and the way that I was brought up.”
It’s a pretty wild thing to say just a few days before Mother’s Day… But it without a doubt speaks to his competitiveness on the football field.
This quote has to make you wonder. If he is willing to do this to his own mom, what is he willing to do in order to compete against some of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
