The Las Vegas Raiders started rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell for the majority of their games last season after the team’s new leadership benched veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. But even though O’Connell showed some promise, the team has made it very clear that they intend to bring in another quarterback, and it sounds like they know who they want.
According to a report from Cecil Lammey of DenverSports.com, the Las Vegas Raiders are pursuing Russell Wilson, who is widely considered one of the top free agent quarterbacks, and he is “open” to signing with them.
“I’m told Russell Wilson is open to singing with the #Raiders – and he’s being advised to do so by those close to him. #Broncos could be facing their former quarterback 2X per year,” Lammey wrote in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Wilson has not yet been formally released by the Broncos – that will happen next week when the new league year begins – but he has been given permission to talk to other teams in the meantime.
We’ll have to see where Wilson ultimately decides to sign, and he does have a few other options, but it’s pretty clear that there is mutual interest between him and the Raiders.
