Kenny Pickett’s time with the Pittsburgh Steelers is over after he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles over the weekend, just a few days after the team added veteran quarterback Russell Wilson in free agency. But even though things didn’t work out with the Steelers, it sounds like he is still grateful for the time he spent with the team.
On Monday, Kenny Pickett sent a message to the city of Pittsburgh as he leaves the team to join the Philadelphia Eagles, making it clear how much he appreciated his time with the Steelers.
“Thank you, Pittsburgh! I came to this city 7 years ago and my life changed forever,” Pickett wrote Sunday on Instagram. “Grateful for all of the amazing people I was fortunate enough to cross paths with, and for all of those who supported me along the way. I made life-long friendships and relationships that I will always cherish. Now, I am honored and excited for the next opportunity in my career – being able to play for the team that helped me find my love for the game as a kid. Go Birds!!”
Pickett will now head to Philadelphia where he is expected to serve as the backup quarterback for starter Jalen Hurts.
