Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs is facing multiple legal issues this offseason. As a result, it sounds like the team had decided to part ways with him.

According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Chiefs have officially decided to release Isaiah Buggs from their roster.

“The Chiefs have informed DL Isaiah Buggs they’re releasing him, per source,” Pelissero said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“Isaiah Buggs’ bond was revoked after his most recent arrest and he’s currently in jail as multiple legal cases play out. Bigger issues to worry about than football, and Kansas City is moving on,” Pelissero said in a follow-up post.

Earlier this month, Buggs was arrested in an animal cruelty case that resulted in the death of a dog and things then got worse for him when he was charged with second-degree domestic violence and second-degree burglary after he allegedly broke into the apartment occupied by the mother of his child, and dragged her down the stairs.

Needless to say, it sounds like the Chiefs have decided that they will allow him to work out his legal issues on his own.
