The Kansas City Chiefs are still riding high after winning their second consecutive Super Bowl title and will be going for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl this season. But it seems that one member of that Super Bowl team is facing some pretty shocking and abhorrent charges.

According to a report from Patch, Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs is facing two misdemeanor charges in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for second-degree cruelty to dogs after he left two dogs with no access to food and water.

“The petition goes on to say that when TPD and the City of Tuscaloosa’s Animal Control officers arrived, they found a grey and white pitbull on the screened-in back porch surrounded in feces, with no access to food or water,” Ryan Phillips wrote for Patch this week.

“What’s more, those responding reported finding a black Rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight with no access to food or water.”

According to the report, both dogs were seized because they were both “malnourished, emaciated and neglected.” One of the dogs had to be euthanized in April after becoming increasingly aggressive and failing heartworm treatment at the shelter.

Obviously, this is awful news and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

The Chiefs have not offered a response to the allegations.
