While the Kansas City Chiefs are celebrating a second consecutive Super Bowl championship and preparing to try to win an unprecedented third consecutive title, it sounds like one player on the roster has been accused of a pretty heinous crime: animal cruelty.
According to a report from Patch, Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs is facing two misdemeanor warrants issued by Tuscaloosa police for second-degree cruelty to dogs. According to the report, Buggs left two dogs with no access to food and water and both dogs have been seized because they were both “malnourished, emaciated and neglected.”
“The petition goes on to say that when TPD and the City of Tuscaloosa’s Animal Control officers arrived, they found a grey and white pitbull on the screened-in back porch surrounded in feces, with no access to food or water,” Ryan Phillips wrote for Patch this week.
“What’s more, those responding reported finding a black Rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight with no access to food or water.”
Buggs was a star for the Alabama Crimson Tide before he entered the NFL in 2019. He has spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Detroit Lions before signing with the Chiefs last year.
