As the Kansas City Chiefs made their run through the postseason, there has been a lot of speculation that Andy Reid could choose to retire from the league following this season. He’ll obviously have a decision to make, but it doesn’t sound like the Chiefs are expecting him to retire.
During an interview with Chris Russo of Mad Dog Sports Radio on Tuesday, Kansas City Chiefs team owner Clark Hunt revealed that he will have a conversation with Reid after the season to discuss his decision about his future, but Hunt said he has “no sense” that Andy Reid is planning to retire from the NFL anytime soon.
“We have that conversation each off-season and so, you know, that’s a conversation we’ll have at the end of the year,” Hunt said on the show.

“But I’m not expecting him to retire. He loves what he’s doing. I know he’s energized by the team that he has. I know he loves coaching Patrick Mahomes. He’s got a generational quarterback. So, I look forward to having Andy as our head coach for many more years.”
Obviously, Reid could still surprise the team and announce his retirement following this season, but it sounds like Hunt expects Reid to not only be the team’s head coach next season but for years to come after that, as well.
