When the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to trade for former Chicago Bears starting quarterback Justin Fields this offseason, many thought that there was a chance he could beat out Russell Wilson for the starting quarterback job. But according to one report, it does not sound like that’s going to happen.

During a recent appearance on Press Coverage on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Pittsburgh Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo offered a pretty scathing review of Justin Fields, claiming that Fields is “not terribly accurate with the ball.”

“Fields, from what I’ve seen, they had a month of spring practices and he’s a terrific athlete, but really the knocks against him that I heard coming in actually turned out to be true,” Fittipaldo said, according to SI.com. “He’s not terribly accurate with the ball. His placement isn’t all that great, and I could see them maybe having a package or two for him each week depending on the opponent, but I see this team as Russell Wilson’s team.”

Obviously, this is pretty horrible news for Justin Fields as he was hoping to start fresh with the Steelers, and potentially earn a starting role, which led to many reactions on social media.

Obviously, the Steelers have not yet made an official announcement regarding which player will start at quarterback this season, but Fittipaldo’s report seems to indicate that it will be Wilson, not Fields.
