Well, that escalated quickly.
Last night, LeGarrette Blount reportedly left the field before the game between the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers was over. Apparently upset over his lack of opportunities (Blount had no carries against the Titans and his role in Pittsburgh’s offense has been very limited), Blount dressed early and was the first on the team bus. According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, that did not sit well with Steelers players.
At least one player thought they should leave him in Nashville.
Bouchette’s report also mentioned that the Steelers were having internal problems with Blount for at least a month so it’s probably not much of a surprise that after last night’s incident, the Steelers decided to release Blount after signing him this past offseason.
Steelers released running back LeGarrette Blount, the team announced today.

While this will undoubtedly ensure that Le’Veon Bell is the feature back in Pittsburgh for the foreseeable future, it is a bit sad that the Steelers’ Cheech and Chong are no more.
