Josh Gordon has failed yet another drug test. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the dynamic Cleveland Browns receiver will likely be subjected to a 1-year suspension for his latest stumble.
The man entering his fourth NFL season in 2015 has proved to be one of the league’s most talented playmakers on-the-field but a serious liability off-the-field. Gordon has appeared in 35 games over his first three seasons, hauling in 161 catches for 2,754 yards, numbers good enough for an absurd 17.1 average yards per catch.
It remains unclear when the drug test occurred and how the Browns will deal with the situation. The release comes less than one month after he was suspended for the team’s Week 17 games for a violation of team rules. He only played in five games following a year-long suspension that was reduced to 10 games after the NFL adopted a new discipline policy.
