On Monday night, Joseph Randle was arrested for allegedly stealing about $40 worth of underwear as well as a “tester” bottle of Gucci cologne valued at $85. Aside from the obvious legal costs that comes with such an offense, the theft is going to be extremely costly to Randle.
The Cowboys have announced that they will fine Randle for the incident. How much will Randle get docked for stealing approximately $125 worth of goods?
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told USA Today that the fine would be in the range of one game check, which is about $29,000 for Randle, and that the team also wanted Randle to do community service as part of what Jones hopes will be a “good learning experience” for the running back.
$29,000 for some underwear and cologne (which, it should be remembered, Randle didn’t even get to keep). Hard to know what hurts more, Randle’s wallet or the barbs from other NFL players which are already coming his way.
