Last season, Jordan Love took over as the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers after the departure of Aaron Rodgers. Love performed well in place of the future Hall of Famer, leading the team to a postseason berth and a playoff win. And it sounds like he’s expecting even more from this season.
During a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Jordan Love made it clear that he is expecting the Packers to contend for a Super Bowl this season.
“It’s a great feeling, man,” Love said on the podcast according to Pro Football Talk. “We’re all very hungry for this upcoming year. Like you said, the confidence from top to bottom is there. The organization believes that it’s the perfect time to have a chance to win a Super Bowl this year. Those conversations we had after that 49ers game were ‘Work harder, try and find ways to get better, because next year we’re gonna do it,’ There’s no more ‘we’re a young team,’ there’s no more of those what ifs. People know what we’re about now. Obviously, we’ll have that target on our back now, people are gonna want to beat us. We’re hungry.”
Those are some bold words from Love. Let’s see whether or not the team can back it up next season.
