So, this Johnny Manziel kid is pretty popular. A tally of the total number of jerseys sold in the first quarter of the NFL’s fiscal year revealed that the Cleveland Browns’ rookie quarterback had the best selling jersey.
Seriously, a member of the Cleveland Browns had the best-selling jersey in the NFL. This is something which has (unsurprisingly) never happened since the NFL started tracking individual jersey sales back in 2001.
Manziel beat out Russell Wilson (#2), Colin Kaepernick (#3), Peyton Manning (#4) and Richard Sherman (#5) to round out the top five. The sixth best-selling jersey? Michael Sam.
Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers took the seventh, eighth and ninth spot respectively.
The tenth best selling jersey in the NFL? The Seahawks “#12” jersey. You know, that famous #12 on the Seahawks. Oh, you mean there’s no one on the Seahawks who wears the number twelve?
You obviously haven’t met a smug Seattle Seahawks fan.
I still can’t believe that this is a real thing and that it sells well.
