Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback Joe Burrow has played against a lot of talented pass rushers, but he claims that Pittsburgh Steelers superstar T.J. Watt stands out from the rest, not because of his pass-rushing ability.
During a recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Joe Burrow did not hold back his praise for T.J. Watt as he claimed that he has to treat him like a defensive back the way he is capable of jumping up and intercepting passes.
“Yeah, I can definitely feel [him],” Burrow said according to Pro Football Talk. “T.J. is a unique player in this league. There’s no other defensive lineman that I have to treat like a DB. I have to be conscious about where he’s at because he’s just going to jump up and catch it. And there’s nobody else who can do that.
“You have to be alert for him in the pass game, which is very unique, I would say.”
Last season, Watt finished second in the Defensive MVP voting after he tallied 19.0 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, 36 quarterback hits, eight pass defenses, and one interception. Needless to say, he has established himself as one of the most dominant defenders in the league, and Burrow has taken notice.
