The Cincinnati Bengals are facing a pretty difficult situation regarding star wide receiver Tee Higgins. After four seasons with the team, Higgins is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, putting his future with the team in question, especially with teammate Ja’Marr Chase due for an extension as well. But it sounds like star quarterback Joe Burrow thinks Higgins will be back.
During a press conference this week, Joe Burrow sent a pretty clear message to his teammate ahead of the offseason, making it clear that he thinks Tee Higgins will be back with the team next season.
“Well obviously, we’d love to have Tee back,” Burrow said in his press conference according to Pro Football Talk. “He’s a big part of what we’ve done here. And it’s no secret, our relationship.
“So, I expect Tee to be back. I think that’s the sentiment in the locker room — we all want Tee back. We know what kind of player he is, we know what kind of person he is. He’s what being a Bengal is all about. So, like you said, we’ll see. But I think we should have a good opportunity.”
Burrow sounds confident, but we’ll have to see what happens this offseason.
