The Cincinnati Bengals have won three in a row. Quarterback Joe Burrow is playing at an insane level, and Sunday’s performance in the Bengals’ 24-6 victory was another in a string of them lately.
Burrow made one particularly crazy throw on Sunday. The former LSU star threw a magnificent pass to wide receiver Tee Higgins. Higgins came down with it in the end zone for a touchdown to push the Bengals further out in front.
Burrow didn’t even know how he pulled that one off.
“I was parallel. I don’t know how I threw it, but that one was pretty cool,” Burrow told reporters after the game via Bengals.com. “I need to do a better job at just picking my feet up in pocket. I don’t know how Tee got so open. I’ll have to see it on tape, but he obviously ran a great route and saw him open enough to try that throw and was able to execute it.”
Burrow continued, saying, “I saw him as I was starting to move up in the pocket. As I was falling down, I was like, ‘Got to try to get it to him any way that I can.’
“I thought my knee might be down because I’d never been in that position throwing a football before, but I was able to keep it up,” he said.
This season, Burrow’s been on an insane pace. He’s thrown for 4,229 yards, 39 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
The Bengals will hope to make a last-ditch playoff push with only two weeks left in the season.
