Former New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will get a chance to start over in a new city with the Denver Broncos in the 2024-25 season. But even after his departure from New York, he is still being used as the punch line of jokes, particularly a joke from Jets star cornerback Sauce Gardner on Tuesday.
Gardner got into quite a funny back-and-forth on social media with a “fan” on social media, who seems to be a bit of a troll more than anything else.
The fan made a joke about Gardner being “as handsy with me as he is with wide receivers”, which was met with a great response from Gardner.
“Salley, I get that you feel you are a very attractive gilf, but NO means NO,” tweeted Gardner.

The fan, as you would expect from a Twitter/X troll, then asked Gardner if he had any teammates that would be interested instead. This led to Garder offering a joke about Zach Wilson.
“I’ll hit Zach up to see if he’s ready to upgrade from milf to gilf,” tweeted Gardner.

This is of course in reference to Wilson’s very public controversy back in 2022, where Wilson’s ex-girlfriend Abbey Gile claimed that Wilson had slept with his mom’s best friend while they were in a relationship.
Funny enough, Gardner was quite complimentary of his former quarterback while Wilson was starting at quarterback for the Jets. But now that he is out of town, it seems like Gardner has no issue taking a dig at his former teammate, albeit in a very funny way…
