The New York Jets are trying to get things turned around after a miserable season that can only be classified as disastrous. Despite having quarterback Aaron Rodgers available throughout the season and trading for wide receiver Devante Adams, the Jets ended the season 5-12 and missed out on the playoffs.
The brutal season resulted in the Jets having vacancies for both the head coach and general manager positions. According to one prominent NFL insider, the Jets are doing their best to move forward with one shocking candidate for the general manager position.
“Sources: Jets requested a general manager interview with Buccaneers assistant GM Mike Greenberg, who grew up a Jets fan on Long Island,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Noooo!!! He is so vital to the Bucs success. Guy is a master at managing the salary cap. I’d hate to see him leave Tampa, but he’s absolutely earned the opportunity,” one Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan wrote on Twitter.
“A Rex Ryan Greenberg duo is exactly what this organization needs,” one fan added.
“Because hiring a fan always guarantees a championship, right?” another fan added.
“Him having been a fan growing up can potentially be really impactful. Look at the Mets with Cohen and Stearns having grown up fans. Have even more of a desire to win,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Jets can pull off the move.
