The New York Jets are doing their best to turn things around after one of the most disappointing two-year stretches in recent memory. New York thought that the presence of Aaron Rodgers would turn the franchise into a Super Bowl contender, but in Rodgers’ first season in the Big Apple, he went down with in Achilles rupture in the first series of the year.
Rodgers was available this season, but the Jets still missed out on the playoffs.
Now, the Jets are hoping a new regime can right the ship, and they’ve completed the interview process with one of their leading candidates to take up the mantle of head coach.
“Jets completed an interview with Rex Ryan for their Head Coach position,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the news on social.
“This organization is not serious. At all. Embarrassing,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“It’s gonna be him. When you’re at rock bottom and nobody else of value wants the job, gotta start somewhere and that somewhere is with Rex Ryan,” added one fan.
“Really think with the right staff he could be solid option,” one fan added.
“He talks a big game, but he’s more suitable as a coordinator. Where were the offers from other teams the past few years if he was so good? He’s a terrible clock management guy, but I guess since he curses a lot he must be the guy,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ryan gets the job, but signs are pointing toward him being the leading candidate at this point.
