The anthem protests are all anyone can talk about now that the Sunday NFL games are over. Many, many players participated in it and many other teams didn’t go out for the anthem itself.
The Tennessee Titans did not go out on the field for the anthem and afterward, released a joint statement explaining their reasoning why.
“The players jointly decided this was the best course of action. Our commitment to the military and our community is resolute and the absence of our team for the national anthem shouldn’t be misconstrued as unpatriotic.”
Eric Decker, a receiver on the Titans was part of the demonstration but his wife, Jesse James Decker, has come out and said that he was not part of the protest.
“My husband was not made aware it was time to go out for the game. Unfortunately, a decision was made for him without him knowing,” said Jesse James Decker. She also posted a long Instagram message reiterating the same thought.
Eric commented on it and said, “Preach, baby!” As divided as the country is, it looks like locker rooms around the NFL may be divided as well. The continued protests have allowed for others to speak out and it looks like voices of dissent are coming out as well.
