Jerramy Stevens, the former NFL tight end who is perhaps most famous for taking a knee to the groin in a Monday night game against Oakland in 2006, made an appearance in Kirkland Municipal Court Tuesday after being arrested on suspicion of fourth degree domestic violence assault.
Kirkland police responded to a fight at a house party early Monday morning and found a 31-year-old woman with a cut on her elbow, and a 34-year-old man with bruises and contusions. KING-TV’s Chris Daniels followed court proceedings Tuesday afternoon and confirmed the judge dismissed the charge, citing a lack of probable cause. The altercation had arisen from a dispute about where the couple was going to live, post nuptials — Washington or Florida. Another unknown individual was involved in the altercation, along with a stun gun. According to court documents, Stevens and Solo have been together for two months and planned on marrying Tuesday.

Stevens is no stranger to run-ins with the law though, dating back to his days as a star tight end at River Ridge High School in Lacey, Washington. His off-field troubles continued at the University of Washington — both he and Solo attended school there — and throughout his pro career. Stevens eventually washed out of the NFL in 2010 following a felony marijuana possession charge.
