The New York Jets have had about as miserable a start to the season as imaginable considering quarterback Aaron Rodgers wasn’t injured on the first possession of the season this year.

Still, even with a mostly healthy Rodgers, the Jets are 2-6 and in last place in the AFC East. As if there weren’t enough problems surrounding the Jets, now there’s a disconnect between the coaching staff and one of the franchise’s young stars.

According to a Twitter account that focuses on reporting news around the NFL, head coach Jeff Ulbrich is not pleased with what he’s seeing from all-pro cornerback Sauce Gardner.

“Jets CB Sauce Gardner needs to improve his tackling, says HC Jeff Ulbrich. “In all honesty, and we’ve had this conversation, it needs to be better and he knows that,” JPAFootball reported.

Fans reacted to the news that Gardner’s coach is openly critiquing his game on social media.

“He got cooked by rhamondre stevenson when he lined up as a wr (…)and then missed a tackle on the same play on him,” one fan responded on Twitter.

‘Turns out, Sauce Gardner isn’t the lockdown corner we thought he was. Sure, he’s had his moments, but this season has been a reality check.

“The Jets’ defense is struggling, and Gardner’s performance has been a letdown. Time to face the facts – he’s not living up to the hype,” one fan added.

“Could think of other New York Jets players who deserve the same energy right now if we’re going down this road,” one fan added.

“They got bigger problems than that,” one fan added, likely referencing the diminished performance of Aaron Rodgers.

“Chill coach, he’s focused on his golf swing,” one fan added.

It’s been an all-around ugly season in New York, and if Gardner and his coaches can’t get on the same page, things are going to get uglier.
