Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce isn’t playing football anymore, but he’s still rooting for the Eagles wherever he can.

The Eagles played the New York Giants on Sunday, in what served as the first time Eagles running back Saquon Barkley faced his former team. Giants fans booed the Eagles’ new star running back, and Kelce just couldn’t grasp where all the animosity was coming from.

“For the life of me, I don’t understand why Giants fans hate Saquon for what happened, and not the Giants organization for the fact he is an Eagle,” Kelce said in a post on Twitter.

“They have absolutely no one to blame other than the Giants ownership and management decisions for why he is no longer a Giant. Obviously understand their hate of the Eagles, and desire for him not to succeed, just very odd this energy is directed at him more so than the organization.”

Fans online decided to let him know exactly where they were coming from.

“We hate him because he chose the enemy. Weak move. Coulda chose the Texans or ravens. Would’ve had a better chance at success and then we could’ve rooted for him. He also tried to play the victim afterward. Another weak move. It’s very valid if you think about it Jason,” one fan said on Twitter.

“Let me put it real simple for you. He lied all season about HOW bad he wanted to be a giant for life, got offered by the FO multiple times didn’t take any offer then left for Philly. Not rocket science,” one fan added.

“The honest answer is, we can’t fully direct it at ownership and mangament because they are still Giants and we are stuck with them. We can’t elect new ownership or management, but Saquon choosing the Eagles, while beneficial for him, it hurt the fans to pick the enemy,” one fan said.

“We are not a nation of critical thinkers, Jason,” a fan added.

“It really bothers me as a Giants fan that this is how they are treating him. He’s the only thing we had to be happy about for 6 years!!! And because the front office wanted to pay the most boring and mid QB ever instead of him he goes home to get paid and now you hate him???” a fan added.

“Giants fans aren’t mad he’s gone their mad that he went to a rival,” offered someone else.

It seems Giants fans have every right to be outraged. It’s hard to tell whether or not Kelce was being facetious, but perhaps he should consider sticking to the Eagles’ problems.
