Houston Texans defensive end, touchdown machine and all-around football god J.J. Watt may let his play do the talking but that doesn’t mean that Watt is silent on the field.
Watt had a mic on him for the Texans game against the Titans and we can now confirm that J.J. Watt is just as good at mixing it up verbally as he is at making opposing linemen look like rag dolls.
Some highlights:
1. Watt wants DeAndre Hopkins to go to the concession stand so he won’t miss the show that Watt is about to put on:
“What you got today 10? Let’s see it, I’ll show you. Just make sure you got a good view. Get some popcorn. Maybe some Jujubes. A slushie? Snowcaps, perhaps. Maybe some snowcaps.”
2. Watt on being held by his neck and not getting the flag:
“Are you kidding me!?! I’m beating these guys like a drum out here!”
3. On the Titans over-matched lineman:
“This guy. He can’t even touch me. He’s stumbling over his own feet.”
And later to the poor left tackle:
“You’re going to hold all day or just part of it?”
4. Again, on that beleaguered Titans tackle:
Watt: “That guy is having a rough day. I’m going to stay on 67 to start…”
Texans staff: “You mean 76?”
Watt: “Yeah, whoever the heck that guy is.”
Just mic up J.J. Watt every week. Is there anything this man can’t do?
