Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is heading into the second season of his career after one of the most dominant rookie seasons of any quarterback in the history of the league. But it sounds like he had a bit of an injury scare as the team began training camp.
During Saturday’s practice, defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi accidentally stepped on the foot of C.J. Stroud leaving the quarterback limping for a few plays and visibly uncomfortable. It was certainly a concerning situation for the young star quarterback, but it doesn’t sound like it was a serious injury.
During a press conference, Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans offered his reaction to the injury as he made it clear that there is “no concern” about the health of C.J. Stroud despite the incident.
“No concern on C.J. at all,” Ryans said according to Pro Football Talk. “He is doing great. Having a great camp. No concern with C.J. at all. He is doing great.”
Stroud had a dominant season last year leading the entire NFL with 273.9 passing yards per game last season, earning him the offensive rookie of the year honors. He finished the season with 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns with just five interception.
