Following the 2021 NFL season, star wide receiver Hollywood Brown requested a trade from the Baltimore Ravens as a result of their offensive system, ultimately landing with the Arizona Cardinals. But even though he hasn’t had the same production with the Cardinals, he doesn’t regret requesting the trade.
During his introductory press conference after signing with the Kansas City Chiefs this week, Hollywood Brown made it clear that he thinks it was the right move at the time.
“Yeah, I feel like that was the best decision for me,” Brown said according to Pro Football Talk. “At the end of the day, if you’re not happy with yourself or you’re not happy with what’s going on, you can’t put your best foot forward on the field. So, I feel like my time in Arizona, I mean, I didn’t accomplish stuff I wanted to accomplish on the field. But as a man, I grew — I grew closer with God, I grew closer in my relationship with my family. And I feel like God put me in that situation because I needed it.”
It was a controversial decision in hindsight because Brown had his most productive season during his last year with the Baltimore Ravens in which he totaled 1,008 yards. He did not increase that production with the Cardinals. But it sounds like he has no regrets.
