Earlier this month, the Green Bay Packers locked up star quarterback Jordan Love for the foreseeable future, signing him to an absolutely massive contract extension to keep him with the team. With that signing, the team was all set at the top of the depth chart at the quarterback position, but they just made a move that will help bolster the depth behind him, as well.

According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN on Monday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers acquired veteran quarterback Malik Willis in a trade with the Tennessee Titans, bringing in the experienced quarterback to provide some depth behind Jordan Love.

“QB trade: Titans are sending QB Malik Willis to the Packers in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round pick, per sources. Willis is likely to back up Jordan Love,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Willis was originally selected in the third round by the Tennessee Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft. He started three games in his rookie season but struggled to perform well consistently. He was since been passed by 2023 second-round pick Will Levis, who appears to be the team’s starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. Now, he has a new home.
