Jordan Love had big shoes to fill as he stepped into his first season as the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers after future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers left the team to join the New York Jets. But he performed well enough that the team has decided to move forward with him as their quarterback of the future.
During a press conference this week, Green Bay Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced that Jordan Love will be the quarterback of the team for the foreseeable future.
“Jordan had a really good season, toward the end, especially the second half and I think we’re really excited to build around him,” Gutekunst said according to Pro Football Talk.
Not only that, but Gutekunst made it clear that the team will be rewarding him with a new, long-term contract in the coming months.
“I think we’ll go down that road,” Gutekunst said. “I think certainly, that’ll be important for our football team to have some stability there. Jordan and his representation, I think they’re really good people. So, we’ll start working toward that sometime in the next couple of months.”
It’s obviously big news for Love, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it.
Sophmore slump activate. One year of tape on him and next year will be rough.

There should be a cap on QBs though too so teams don't have to dismantle their roster because of what franchise QBs make

We’ll have to see how Love performs in his second season as a starter next year.
