Heading into the 2024-25 NFL season, the New York Giants perhaps have more questions than answers at the quarterback position. But on Monday, some significant news emerged that helps clear things up when it comes to starting quarterback Daniel Jones.
Jones of course missed much of this past season with a torn ACL, an injury that is obviously a cause for concern for the Giants organization.
The team also brought in veteran quarterback Drew Lock to potentially compete with Jones for the starting job. So it is obviously crucial for Jones that he is healthy heading into training camp to keep his starting gig secure.
According to Jones, it seems like that will be the case. During an appearance on the Simms Complete podcast that was previewed by the New York Post, Jones detailed that he is “pretty much doing everything” at this point of his recovery process.
“At this point, I’m doing pretty much everything,” Jones told Phil and Matt Simms. Running, cutting, everything I need to do.”
Jones will be returning to a much different team than the one he last played for when he does return to the field after Saquon Barkley’s departure to the Philadelphia Eagles. So he will need as many reps as possible to adjust to life without Barkley in the backfield.
If Jones is to be believed, he should be able to participate in all team training pretty soon, which should come as a welcome sight to Giants fans.
