It’s safe to say that the Pittsburgh Steelers struggled on the offensive side of the ball with Kenny Pickett as their starting quarterback last season. And it doesn’t sound like Steelers star wide receiver George Pickens is shying away from saying it.
During a recent interview session, George Pickens was asked about the team’s addition of quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, and he made it clear that he thinks the two new quarterbacks will be helpful to his own production.
“I feel like it can benefit a lot,” Pickens said on Tuesday according to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “With this type of mindset or scheme, my job is to just get open.”
Pickens also subtly blasted former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett a little bit as he heavily implied that Pickett’s performance was holding him back and the reason why he was not as successful.
“I can only go off of how the quarterback plays. I can thrive more,” Pickens said. “The yardage showed it. I should have made the Pro Bowl.”
Obviously, these words led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see how Pickens is able to perform this year playing alongside Wilson or Fields instead of Pickett.
