As the 2024 presidential election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris heats up, it sounds like Trump has picked up an endorsement from a former NFL star.

In a video he shared on social media, former NFL star Shawne Merriman announced that he will be supporting and voting for Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

“If you disagree with his political views, I got no problem with that. We can still be friends. I’m voting for him,” Merriman said in the video. “I took a stance where I unfollowed people and now I’m not talking to them because I seen them make comments that they wish something had happened. I don’t want to talk to you, I don’t want to associate with you if that’s your stance. Somebody lost their life who was there. He had nothing to do with anything. He was a firefighter who could’ve possibly ran into a house and saved you.”

Merriman played in the NFL from 2005-2012 where he was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2005. He was named to the Pro Bowl three times throughout his career, racking up 258 tackles, 45.5 sacks, 20 passes defended and eight forced fumbles during his time in the league.
