Started Jake Locker over Philip Rivers
In what would’ve seemed like an irresponsible move two weeks ago, starting Locker over Rivers was the right call in Week 2, with the Titans hosting Dallas and the Chargers hosting Seattle. However, this decision destroyed some fantasy matchups, as Rivers shredded the imposing Seahawks’ secondary and Locker followed a great Week 1 with two picks to only one touchdown and 234 yards.
While the Cowboys defense has issues, they’re clearly not as bad as advertised during that Niners debacle and despite a complete dismantling of the Packers in the opener, Seattle’s weaknesses were rudely exposed.
Rivers made his owners pay that elected for the young Titans QB over him and will force them into thinking twice about sitting their top option when a tough defense rolls into town. The decision, resulting in a difference of up to 16 points in some leagues, likely cost owners a huge Week 2 victory. Because it was the right move to sit Rivers, these owners got screwed.
